Year 2/3 Trip to Burwardsley with The Acorns
Date: 28th Jun 2016 @ 10:01am
The children really enjoyed their visit to the Candle Factory and Tattenhall Outdoor Education Centre and had great fun mixing with their friends from The Acorns. The children had an opportunity to make a candle and decorate a candle holder and particularly enjoyed singing " in the wax , out the wax, drip, drip, drip! in the water, out the water, wipe, wipe!" From the candle factory we headed over to Tattenhall Education Centre and thanks to the glorious weather the children had lots of fun making shleters, putting up hammocks and learning how to tie a granny knot, and when they ran out of trees they used the staff and tied them up instead! They learnt how to make a fire using flint and steel and all loved toasting the dough on sticks to make bread, which they all ate eagerly! The children noticed the willow sticks used smelt like watermelon. With these survival skills we now have a class of Bear Grylls!
